On this page we look to the future. Two items are exciting and different. The third is a bit ominous.

Powering the Future: We are making preparations to convert our diesel vehicles to a vegetable fuel system. This means that our deuce-and-a-halves will be capable of running almost completely on recycled restaurant grease! That’s right; the grease from those french fries you may enjoy at Carlee’s Place here in Borrego could end up powering our big 6X6s. Part of our campaign to be a major green company. HumVee Division to Come: These aren’t tame civilian Hummers. They’re the real thing. Look for this exciting addition sometime in 2009.

The Threat of Sempra Energy’s Sunrise Powerlink Project: This giant utility company is currently applying to the California Public Utility Commission to run 155-foot, steel transmission towers through Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and the Juian backcountry. This would be the first time in U.S. history that park land and wilderness area would be de-designated and the precedent would have national implications.
